The Ruby
Ruby Island is an icon in our landscape, featured in thousands of photos and in the lore of Wanaka. It stands as a sentinel - in sight, but also just out of reach. To swim around it is the most brilliant experience and it holds a special surprise as you swim past the southern tip.
So race it or experience it. It's a good outing either way.
The swims circumnavigate Ruby island just off the shore in the sparkling waters of Lake Wanaka. The 3.8km race is a month out from Challenge Wanaka.
10km (new for 2018), 3.8km, 2.5km, 1.2km, 600m and 200m options available. The centrepiece event at 2.5km features Age Group and Open categories with prize money and fantastical winners rings and trophies.
