The Legend of the Lake, at Rotorua’s stunning Blue Lake adds a fresh new dimension to the Banana Boat New Zealand Ocean Swim Series.
Rotorua is the ultimate weekend destination and caters to the ‘Daring Adventurers’ and ‘Coffee Sippers’ alike. Make a holiday of it by booking in your accommodation early and you too can look forward to heading away for a weekend to remember!
Consisting of four different swim events, the Legend of the Lake provides a swim event for all ages and abilities:
- ‘I’m Going Long’ - a 3.5km swim around the perimeter of the lake.
- ‘Step it Up’ - a 1000m swim around a triangular course, an achievable distance for individuals with swimming experience.
- ‘Give it a Go’ – a 500m swim around a triangular course, a great introduction to open water swimming.
- 'Banana Boat OceanKids' 200m - a swim for children aged between 7-12 years old, consisting of a 200m shallow water swim, lined with Surf Life Saving NZ guards.
